Attorney Paliwal Named a 2017 "Up and Coming Lawyer"

CJI's very own Seep Paliwal was honored this week as one of the Wisconsin Law Journal's 2017 "Up and Coming Lawyers." We're so excited to see Attorney Paliwal's dedication to the Municipal Defense Project and Foreclosure Defense Project being recognized.

Madison Municipal Court Judge Daniel Koval expressed his support for Attorney Paliwal's work, noting "she has been instrumental in coordinating a program where attorneys provide free legal services for homeless and indigent persons that have ordinance violations in municipal court [...] and it is apparent from my contact with Seep that she truly cares about making a difference in the justice system."

Her commitment to launching pro bono projects is evident in her own comments, too. "I get to work with a community that's really undeserved in terms of access to legal representation," Seep expressed. And, she's not satisfied, yet. "When you're here to provide services for a low-income population, it's not enough to say, 'we can do this, but we can't do that,' you start thinking, 'how can I address this issues, too?'"

Check out the full story here. Congrats, Seep!
